A canine miraculously survived after falling off a 300ft cliff, prompting warnings for homeowners to maintain their animals on leads close to cliff faces.

Labrador Quince fell off the cliff at Porthkidney Seaside in Cornwall.

The fortunate canine’s fall was damaged by a ledge 50ft from the highest of the cliff, that means he may very well be rescued.

Writing on Fb, the St Ives Coastguard Rescue Staff stated: “St Ives and H.M. Coastguard Portreath Rescue Groups have been paged to Porthkidney Seaside to rescue a canine that had fallen over the cliff because it had not been on a lead.

“The cliffs are as much as 300 toes tall however fortunately the canine landed on a ledge roughly 50 toes down.

“A Rope Rescue Technician was lowered right down to the ledge and was capable of retrieve Quince, who was unhurt and returned to his grateful proprietor.

“Please maintain your canine on a lead always when strolling close to cliffs.”
