Murder probe at holiday camp after woman found with ‘significant’ injury

A person has been arrested on suspicion of homicide after a girl was discovered useless at a vacation campsite.

The sufferer, a girl in her 50s, was discovered struggling a “important damage” by officers speeding to the camp in Brean at 4.50pm on Wednesday.

She was pronounced useless on the scene simply half-hour later on the caravan camp minutes away from Brean seaside in Somerset.

A 70-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of homicide and stays in police custody.

An Avon and Somerset police spokesman stated: “Regardless of the perfect efforts of officers, the lady was sadly pronounced deceased at round 5.20pm.

“Whereas formal identification has not but taken place, her subsequent of kin has been knowledgeable and our ideas are with them presently.”

DI Neil Meade stated: “Our ideas are with the lady’s household throughout this time and we want to reassure them and the area people that our MCIT will perform a full and thorough investigation to determine the details.

“Residents can count on to see an elevated police presence within the space over the subsequent few days, however I want to reassure them that, at this stage, we imagine there is no such thing as a wider threat to the general public and that is an remoted incident.”
