Suspect in killing of pregnant Wisconsin woman arrested in Kansas City’s Northland

A 26-year-old man wished for homicide in Wisconsin within the killing of his pregnant girlfriend, whose physique was discovered inside a purple suitcase three years in the past, was arrested Thursday by Gladstone police.

Jose E. Dominguez-Garcia, of Reedsburg, Wisconsin, has an arrest warrant from the state on two counts of first-degree intentional murder and the concealment of a corpse. He’s accused of killing Rosaly Rodriguez, 26, and her unborn child, in response to information reviews from the state.

Early Thursday, shortly after midnight, Gladstone police had been alerted to a scan by an automatic license-plate-reading digicam of a plate that had been reported stolen, Capt. Karl Burris mentioned in a press release.

Dominguez-Garcia was questioned by police there after Rodriguez went lacking in July 2020, the Chief-Telegram, a newspaper in Wisconsin’s Chippewa Valley, reported in December 2021. Dominguez-Garcia and Rodriguez had labored collectively at a restaurant and bar within the Wisconsin Dells space, which is understood for its tourism and theme parks.

Three months later, Rodriguez’s physique was discovered roughly 140 miles away at a farm in Chippewa County, the newspaper reported. Authorities alleged when costs had been filed that Dominguez-Garcia was linked to the crime by DNA proof and a car registered to him that had indicators of human decomposition in its trunk.

Dominguez-Garcia was arrested and booked within the Clay County jail on Thursday. He was being held there pending a switch to Wisconsin authorities.
